Our Mission

To serve our community through an exceptional dining experience by creating and delivering fresh sea-to-table cuisine using sustainable ingredients sourced from our family fishing boats to embrace our East Coast heritage.

Fishing History

Fred’s family has been actively fishing off of the East Coast for 150 years. South Bristol, Maine is home to Osier’s Wharf- their family owned and operated fishery. This is one of the places where cousin David catches and sells the fish caught from his fleet of boats. He also fishes from Gloucester, Massachusetts. His son, David Jr. catches lobster right off of their family’s land in Bremen, Maine and will ship his daily lobster catch directly to your plate.

Family Recipes

Not only is family fishing a huge part of Pier 48, but so are family recipes. Growing up, Fred and his family had regular Sunday dinners where Nana and his Aunt’s prepared many delicious meals – many of which were made by memory! Pier 48 recreates these family experiences by using many of his relatives recipes and sharing them with you. The menu brings his childhood idea of seafood to life through these family inspired dishes. 

Delivery Process

From sea-to-table…literally! Because of Fred’s family’s fishing background, our seafood is delivered directly to your plate to ensure the freshest seafood. After the fish is caught, it is packaged and flown overnight and delivered to your plate the next day.

Our family’s involvement in the restaurant brings a uniqueness to the table, ensuring that you are not only getting freshly caught fish, but a true family feel. We believe in the importance of being green. We want our actions as a restaurant to reflect into the community, bringing awareness to how the choices we make can impact our oceans and our environment- for the good.
